Down the Yellow Brick Road

As Nightmare Night approaches us lowly humans, the ponies have already had their fun. Here we have AJ in her Scarecrow costume, appropriately feeling a little uneasy on her hooves. After receiving the vial of yellow ink I had ordered in the mail, I've now got the full essentials set of black, white, yellow, blue, and red inks, and am anxious to try more mixing and application in pieces like this and my previous Octavia drawing. While overall pleased with the mixes I created, I realize that AJ's coat ought to be a duller orange. I'm not quite happy with the abstract lines used for the sky background, either; gotta find a better way to convey that, or maybe I should have just left it blank.

This was originally conceived as a group pic, but AJ was too big to let the other two ponies I had planned to be with her get their proper exposure. You can look forward to those other individual portraits soon.
